Hello,
Thank you for visiting our web site. I know the reason why
you’re here may not be an easy one. It’s difficult to see
those we love in need -- but you’ve made an important choice
to find them suitable assistance. Assistance that will
enable them to stay in their familiar environment, which is
always such a big comfort. It’s hard enough to give up doing
things for themselves, driving, preparing meals, all the
things we take for granted. So having the ability to stay in
their own home eases the way for assistance.
A major reason I started In-home Care™ is because of my
experience with my mother. Unfortunately, after surgery for
a brain aneurism she appeared fine but the next day suffered
a serious stroke and was in a coma for about 2 months. When
she came out of the coma, she was debilitated, losing nearly
80% percent of her short term memory and was wheelchair
bound, unable to perform everyday tasks. After intensive
rehabilitation she was sent home. She had aides until she
somewhat recovered but my parents went through so many of
them that there never was any sense of regularity.
Afterwards she was able to feed herself and do some minor
tasks but remained in a wheelchair. My father was 69 at the
time and in good condition but he took care of her 24/7 and
literally had no life unless I came over to relieve him. I
visited often although I lived 60 miles away. I’d make them
huge amounts of easy to heat foods so they could have
nutritious meals. My mother being a proud person, not
wanting to be a burden -- and, I suspect because of the
hardships on our family -- eventually signed herself into a
nursing home and died shortly after. If my father knew back
then that he could have had assistance regularly and
affordably, he might have used them.
And so I am committed to assisting families in Northeast
Florida, people just like you, in finding the best possible
solutions for their elderly loved ones. Besides offering the
kind of people we would all welcome as a helping hand, I’ve
also put together an array of ancillary services. The Voice
of Help™ Alert System and Wellness Reminders are there to
aid seniors when they are on their own -- non-intrusive
solutions that provide the additional safety and assistance
they require, offered in an easily affordable manner.
