Appropriate for those with:
• Early to mid stages of Alzheimer’s disease
• Brain injury that is caused by stroke or trauma
• Age-related memory challenges
To provide a cognitive retention program specific to your loved one,
our skilled caregiver utilizes memory exercises, a workbook, journal
and an information gathering process. Therapy begins by first
listening to and understanding the stories and details of each
person’s life – who they are, where they were born, where they grew
up. These all become part of the individual’s specific program.
Mental exercises and physical activities are designed to appeal to
each individual’s most familiar personal interests and to reinforce
past associations and memories.
A standard regimen of short mental exercises is the foundation of
this type of therapy. By structuring activities geared to tap into
the memory of common subjects, events, and experiences in a person’s
past, this stimulates a recall of events and information and, in the
process, improves and maintains a person’s cognitive thinking
ability.
Benefits:
• Innovative and non-invasive
• Research proven
• Customized to the individual – it’s all about them!
• Participants really enjoy the process
• Can be used with or without prescribed Alzheimer's medications
• In tandem with medication, results have been outstanding
The results of Cognitive Retention Therapy™ have proven successful
among researchers, psychologists, doctors, home care providers, and
those individuals realizing the value of this therapeutic program.
